Position Overview

Technuf is looking for motivated individuals to join the CyberSafe Security Operations Center (SOC) team as L1 SOC Analysts. This is an entry-level opportunity for candidates who are interested in starting and developing a career in cybersecurity and security operations.

As part of the 24x7 SOC team, the L1 SOC Analyst will help monitor security alerts and support the initial handling of potential security events. The role will primarily involve monitoring and acknowledging alerts, following established SOC procedures and playbooks, documenting activities, and escalating alerts to L2 analysts or designated resources when additional support is needed.

Selected candidates will receive training on the tools, processes, and procedures required to perform their day-to-day responsibilities effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and acknowledge security alerts during assigned shifts.
• Review alerts and available information by following established SOC procedures and playbooks.
• Perform basic initial checks and gather relevant information related to security alerts.
• Document alert details, observations, and actions taken.
• Escalate alerts to L2 SOC Analysts or designated resources when further investigation or assistance is required.
• Follow established escalation procedures for critical or emergency situations.
• Maintain clear and accurate records of assigned activities.
• Communicate open alerts and ongoing activities during shift handoffs.
• Collaborate with L2 analysts and other SOC team members as needed.
• Participate in training and knowledge-sharing sessions to build technical and cybersecurity skills.
• Learn and use the security tools and platforms required for daily SOC operations.
• Follow organizational security policies and established SOC operating procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related technical field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Interest in cybersecurity and a willingness to learn and grow in the field.
• Basic familiarity with computers and general IT concepts is preferred.
• Fundamental knowledge of computer networking concepts, including TCP/IP and the OSI model.
• Ability to learn new tools, technologies, and processes through training.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow documented instructions and procedures.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Willingness to work assigned shifts as part of a 24x7 SOC operation.

Experience

Previous professional experience in a SOC or cybersecurity role is not required. Candidates with relevant academic knowledge, internships, training, certifications, or general exposure to IT or cybersecurity are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Skills

The following skills and experience would be beneficial but are not required:

• Basic awareness of cybersecurity concepts.
• Familiarity with operating systems and general IT infrastructure.
• Exposure to security monitoring or IT support.
• Cybersecurity or IT-related coursework, training, or certifications.

Training and guidance will be provided to help selected candidates develop the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the role.

Work Environment

This position will support Technuf’s CyberSafe SOC operations from Bangladesh. The SOC operates on a 24x7 model, and selected candidates should be willing to work day, evening, or night shifts based on the assigned rotation schedule.

L1 SOC Analysts will work within established SOC procedures and escalation processes, with guidance and support available from L2 analysts and other designated technical resources.
